Your exposure on the Web
The questions
INTRODUCTION
You are viewing a set of World Wide Web pages called "Working in Multimedia." These pages each contain information about a particular job in multimedia product development supplied by a professional who holds that job. We at IIRG! have undertaken this pro
ject to help graduate students in Instructional Systems Technology understand more about the real jobs that exist in multimedia product development, since many of them are very excited about the prospect of developing multimedia when they leave school
We hope you will be able to help us with this project. If you can, just answer the questions at the end of this message in an email reply. We anticipate this might take you 30-45 minutes (in fact, we'll check for typos later so you don't have to spend tim
e on that), although if you want to give a longer response the students will certainly consume everything you can provide -- they really want this kind of information! If you want to send us a picture of yourself by regular mail, we'll be delighted to sca
n it and include it on your page.
Thanks for your help!

- YOUR EXPOSURE ON THE WEB
- Of course we are aware that once a page appears on the Web it is available to a much wider audience than the one we are primarily concerned with reaching, and we will take the following steps to reduce any unwanted exposure you might face as a partici
pant in this project:
- We will NOT publish your email address or any other specific data on how to reach you unless you request that we do so.
- We will NOT publish the name of your company if you request that we withold it.
- We WILL add a statement to your page indicating that you do not want to be contacted if you ask us to do so.
- We WILL use a psuedonym that you suggest if you ask us to do so, although we prefer not to. The major value in this project is that the information comes from real people in real jobs!
- We WILL copy and paste your email response into a Web page by hand (rather than automating the process through a script), which means a human being will read any special notes / instructions you want to add concerning the way you would like your infor
mation presented.
- We WILL mark each page clearly with the date on which the information was current.
- We WILL remove your page at any time if you ask me to do so.
- We am NOT asking for your official, and probably confidential, job description. We want the description of your responsibilities and activities that you would give a student who came to you for an informational interview.
