Understanding Comics and Reinventing Comics by Scott McCloud are a great education in visual communication. The website is pretty informative as well! Get the books and study them too .. this will be some of the most fun you can have while you are developing your interaction design skills!

Available on the website of xplane, this is a rich rescource for all kinds of design links ... although it is not focused entirely on interaction design or icon design, anyone interested in design will find something of use sooner or later in this high-quality blog!

This useful site was maintained by Keith Instone until last year. He still checks links although he is not posting new ones, and there is not really a web-oriented site out there to replace the Usable Web so IIRG! will leave this link available for now.
