IU Repeats As MIVA Champions!
|
|
This past weekend the Hoosiers successfully defended their 2002 MIVA Championship by going 8-1 over the course of the weekend in Ann Arbor. In pool play on Saturday the Hoosiers defeated Ohio Northern University, University of Toledo, Marquette University, and lost to Ball State University. On Sunday IU defeated UW-Oshkosh, University of Michigan, University of Illinois, and Northern Illinois in the finals.

Hoosiers Lose In Big Ten Tournament Finals
|
|
The Hoosiers over this past weekend failed to defend their 2002 Big Ten Tournament Championship at the University of Wisconsin. Despite beating Purdue University, University of Iowa, Ohio State University, and the University of Minnesota, the Hoosiers came up short against the University of Michigan in the championship match. The Hoosiers lost to the Wolverines in a close three game final 25-18, 23-25, and 11-15.

IU Takes Third at Hoosier-Illini Classic
|
|
For the second year in a row, the Indiana Men's Volleyball team came up short of winning the Hoosier-Illini Classic. The Hoosiers, whom co-host this 32 team tournament with the University of Illinois, cruised through pool play on Saturday. During pool play, IU defeated UW-Whitewater, Wittenberg University, and Eckerd College. On Sunday, the Hoosiers entered the Gold Division playoffs as the number one overall seed. In their first match of the day, IU defeated James Madison University 25-17, 25-23 in the quarterfinals. Next, in the semifinals, the Hoosiers struggled the entire match as they were defeated by Lakeland College 23-25, 30-28, and 17-19.

IU Repeats as Big Ten Regular Season Champs!
|
|
The Indiana Men's Volleyball team is once again the Big Ten regular season champions. This past weekend at Purdue University the Hoosiers went 8-1 to successfully defend their title. Indiana, despite struggling all weekend long, defeated Wisconsin, Iowa, Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, and Illinois. IU suffered its first Big Ten loss in two years to Ohio State in a three game match on Sunday. The Hoosiers will be seeded first for the Big Ten Championship Tournament hosted by the University of Wisconsin on March 15, 2003.

Hoosiers Take Desert Thunder By Storm!
|
|
The Indiana Hoosiers over the course of the weekend went 8-0 in tournament play to claim the title of 2003 Desert Thunder Champions hosted by the University of Arizona. On Saturday morning during pool play the Hoosiers defeated University of Arizona B, University of Colorado B, and UC Davis. Saturday night in their second pool of the day, IU defeated Sacramento State University and Pierce JC. Entering Sunday as the number two ranked team in the Gold division, the Hoosiers defeated UC Davis in the quarterfinals and Azusa Pacific University in the semifinals. In the finals, IU once again faced a strong Pierce JC team whom beat the University of Arizona A in the other Gold division semifinal. In a hard fought three game final the Hoosiers defeated Pierce JC 25-23, 34-36, 15-10 to earn them the tournament championship.

IU Defeats #1 Arizona!

The Indiana Men's Volleyball team claimed its biggest victory ever as a program by defeating the University of Arizona Wildcats the number one ranked team in the nation. The Hoosiers defeated the defending national champions 25-21, 23-25, 15-12 in an exciting three game match. The Hoosiers and the Wildcats played this match at a local high school the day before Arizona hosted their annual Desert Thunder tournament.

Hoosiers Three-Peat at Michigan Classic!

For the third year in a row the Indiana Men's Volleyball team won the University of Michigan Classic. Over the course of the weekend in Ann Arbor the team went 8-1 to win the tournament. In pool play on Saturday the team defeated University of Michigan B, Duke University, the US Naval Academy, and Ohio Northern University. The Hoosiers lost their final pool play match to Purdue University in a close three game match. On Sunday the team defeated Michigan Sate University B, University of Michigan A, Ball State University, and the University of Cincinnati in a hard fought three game final.

Hoosiers Repeat As Hardwood Champions!

The Indiana Men's Volleyball team got back to its winning ways by winning this past weekend's 14th Annual Michigan State University "Back to the Hardwood" Tournament. During pool play on Saturday, the Hoosiers defeated the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, University of Notre Dame, Northwestern University, and University of Pittsburgh. In the playoffs on Sunday, the Hoosiers defeated the University of Illinois, University of Dayton, University of Findlay (NCAA), and finally Ball State University in the finals. The Hoosiers finished the weekend 8-0, bringing their preseason record to 17-2.
