    Approach

Determine limiting factors to recruitment in freshwater systems. Research results have been applied to studies of thermal generating facilities, hydropower facilities, dredging projects, and taxonomic relationships among members of the family Hiodontidae, Polyodontidae, Lepisosteidae, Percidae and Cyprinidae including the description of early life history stages of species.

    Ecological Research

Applied research on the taxonomy of freshwater larval fish and the application of studies of reproductive biology of fishes to early life history ecology. The results of these studies have been applied to evaluating problems associated with thermal pollution and resource management.
