Welcome

our research

The Infant Communication Lab is always engaged in some combination of research studies addressing the following topics:

  • The development of imitation in infancy.
  • Early object name learning; the importance of shape in lexical category formation; effects of early object naming on developments beyond the language realm.
  • Smiling in infancy; how smiling becomes a social signal.

We are happy to hear from interested parents, researchers, prospective graduate students and prospective laboratory assistants. If there is information about our lab that you would like to have and can't find on this website, please don't hesitate to contact us.
