Regional Conference: Best Practices Linking STEM Education and Great Lakes Stewardship

March 14-16, 2013

Case Western Reserve University

Cleveland, OH

 

The conference will promote incorporation of Great Lakes regional stewardship concerns into undergraduate STEM courses using the SENCER and GLISTEN models of learning through civic engagement. Topics will include:

• sharing curriculum initiatives developed during the GLISTEN program or other environmental service-learning initiatives from the perspectives of faculty, student, and community partners,
• exploring opportunities to extend the GLISTEN experience to STEM education using informal science education venues, and
• exploring opportunities for undergraduates to extend the GLISTEN model into K-12 courses through expanded learning communities.
