November 11–20, 2009

International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.  This joint initiative of the US Department of State and the US Department of Education is part of our efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.

IU/Bloomington Transit Bus Services

There are two bus services connecting IU and Bloomington.  Most off-campus housing is conveniently located on one of the two bus lines.

Campus buses

IU has its own bus service that travels to all points of the campus, to downtown Bloomington, and to the largest shopping mall (College Mall).  There is no charge to ride these buses.  For more information on routes and schedules, see iubus.indiana.edu.

City buses (Bloomington Transit)

The local bus company is called Bloomington Transit.  It runs nine routes around the city and is also currently free to IU students.  Be prepared to show your student ID card on the city busses.  For more information on routes and schedules, see: www.bloomingtontransit.com.
