As part of the Office of International Services, the Leo R. Dowling International Center serves as Indiana University’s hub for cultural, educational and social programs and activies for international students and visiting scholars, including their families. Members of the IU and Bloomington communitites are also welcome to take part and learn about global cultures.
The following activities are happening in the Fall 2009 semester:
Conversation clubs hold their weekly meetings at the IC. Check the conversation club schedule for details.
Conversation Partners is an IC program that matches you with someone native or very proficient in the language you wish to practice, who in exchange can gain practice with your native language. In order to become involved in this program, stop by the International Center in person to fill out a Conversation Partners application.
The schedule for Cultural Coffee Hours this semester can be found here. These coffee hours are a great way to meet people and learn about other cultures. Coffee Hours are Fridays from 4:00-6:00pm.
The International Spouses Circle is a group for international spouses at IU where you can:
Korean Christian Fellowship meets 6:30–9:00pm every Thursday.
Middle Eastern dance class meets every Tuesday, starting on September 15 and ending on December 1.
5:30–6:25pm
6:35–7:30pm
Fridays at noon, come to the IC to enjoy a light lunch and classical music in a relaxed atmosphere. The concert schedule for this semester can be found here.
PET meets every Saturday from 12:00pm to 1:00pm
