Orientation Registration

If you have not already done so, please register online for orientation.  It is important for you to provide this information so we can better plan for your orientation activities and make sure we are able to accommodate all the new students who plan to arrive.  It will only take a minute to answer the questions we have asked.  You will need your 10-digit University ID number (found on your admission letter), your date of birth, and your personal identification number (PIN) (see below) to log in.  We appreciate your compliance with this request.

To register for orientation please fill out our Orientation Registration Form.

To find your PIN, click here.  There should be a place to request that your PIN be emailed to you.  This should now come to whichever email account the university has on file for you.  From there you should be able to register for orientation.

Temporary Housing:

If you are planning to stay in temporary housing at Eigenmann Hall, please note that the Center Desk will be open 8:00am–Midnight, Monday–Friday and 10:00am–Midnight Saturday and Sunday.  If you arrive outside of regular hours you can still check in to temporary housing!  If you arrive after midnight, you should call the on-call Resident Assistant (RA) to check in.  To call the RA, dial 812-325-9385.  The RA will then come to help you check in.  If you do not have a cell phone, you may use the courtesy phone located in the lobby to call the RA.  From the courtesy phone, dial 9-325-9385.  Wait there for the RA to meet you.  We highly encourage you not to arrive in Bloomington until Saturday August 1, 2009, closer to the start of orientation.

Hospitality Center:

If you are arriving to Bloomington prior to the start of orientation, be sure to visit the Leo R. Dowling International Center (located on campus at 111 South Jordan Avenue).  Staff and volunteers will be available to answer any questions you might have, and offer suggestions of things to do and places to see.  We will be sure to have coffee, tea, and light refreshments available.  The Hospitality Center will be open 8:30am to 5:00pm on Monday August 17 through Wednesday August 19.  Information will be available at the center on Saturday and Sunday August 15 and 16th for families who may arrive then.

Where to Eat:

Residence halls will officially open for fall semester on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009.  There will be limited food service available until that day.  Students with accepted housing contracts will be able to use their meal points beginning August 26.

Limited dining service is available Saturday August 1st through Tuesday August 25 at Wright Hall Food Court.  It will be open Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 9:00pm and Saturday to Sunday from 9:00am to 9:00pm.

A number of restaurants are located within walking distance from Eigenmann Hall.  The closest (located right across the street) are Lennie’s (pizza/Italian), Dagwood’s (sandwiches) and Jimmy John’s (sandwiches).
