Late Arrival

Summer 2009

Summer II orientation dates are: June 15 and 16, 2009

If you arrive on or after June 16, please report to the Office of International Services at Franklin Hall 306 immediately.  The office hours are 9am to 12 noon and 1pm to 4pm Monday through Friday.

Please bring the following items with you:

  • Passport
  • Visa stamp
  • I-20 or DS-2019
  • I-94
  • Admission letter containing university ID

The following are a check list of items that you will need to take care of. We will give this list to you when you come to the office.

Register for Classes

  • Undergraduates:

    • First Year students:

      Check in with First Year Experiences on June 17th for testing and advising

    • Transfer students:

      Check in with First Year Experiences on June 18th for testing and advising

  • Graduate students:

    Report to your department for instructions

English Proficiency Exam

If you miss the June 16 testing, the staff at the Office of International Services will inform you of what you will need to do to take this test.

Tuberculosis (TB) Test: This Is a Mandatory Test That Must Be Completed in Order for You to Register for Classes in Future Semesters.

If you have had a TB test done in the United States, please send the results to the IU Office of the Registrar, Franklin Hall 100, 601 E. Kirkwood Avenue, Bloomington, IN  47405.  Otherwise, you must call the IU Health Center at 855-7688 to schedule an appointment for a TB test.  Please wait until you know your class schedule before calling.  When you call, press 1 from the menu in order to schedule an appointment with the Laboratory for a TB blood test.  Please do this by May 30, 2008 for Summer I students, and June 30, 2008 for Summer II students.

Come to the IU Health Center at the time and date of your appointment, 600 N. Jordan Ave., at the corner of 10th Street and Jordan Ave.  If you have any chest x-rays or health records from previous TB tests, please bring them to the appointment.  The cost of the TB blood test is $60.00.  Charges may be billed to your Bursar account.  You will be given a statement about the charge to send to your insurance company to apply for reimbursement.

Local US Address: You Must Update Your Local Address within 10 Days of Moving in Order to Remain in Legal Status!

    • Log in to OneStart.
    • Click the Login button and enter your network username and password.
    • In the Student Center, scroll down to the Personal Information section.
    • Review the address displayed in the Contact Information box.
    • Select the Local address.  (This is very important!  Your new address must be entered as a local address in order to update your immigration record.)
    • Click on the green Edit button to update your local address.
    • Enter the address information.  Click OK.
    • Click Save.
  1. If you have problems updating your address in OneStart, you may submit a “Change of Address” request through iStart.  Log in to iStart, click on “Biographical Data” then “Local US Address.”

Campus Access Card

After registering for classes, you may go to one of the two Campus Card locations (Eigenmann Residence Center or the Indiana Memorial Union) to pick up your student ID during your free time.  You must bring your 10-digit University ID number and a photo ID.  Campus Card Services is open 8am–5pm, Monday–Friday.  The Eigenmann Hall location is in the lower level next to the bookstore on the corner of Union St. and 10th Street.  The Indiana Memorial Union location is on 7th Street, on the Mezzanine Level next to Delights snack shop.
