This joint initiative of the US Department of State and the US Department of Education is part of our efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.

Any person who is admitted to the United States in B-1 or B-2 visitor status may not enroll in a course of study until USCIS has approved a change of status from B-1 or B-2 to a student status. Contact an advisor in the Office of International Services for more information on changing status to student status.
