Traveling outside of the US

To re-enter the US after traveling abroad, H-4s must present a valid passport and valid H-4 visa.  It is also advisable to carry a photocopy of the H-1B’s Approval Notice (I-797).  Additionally, it is always necessary to check with the embassy or consulate of the country to which you will travel to determine if you need a visa for that country.  This also applies to transiting and layovers.
