Instructions for Submission of Course for Electives in the International Studies Program
Overview
International Studies seeks partnership with other departments and encourages faculty to submit courses for inclusion on the INTL thematic elective list of courses. All potential thematic courses are reviewed by the INTL Advisory Board. Faculty may propose an existing variable Topics course or a regular course. Both should be at the 300/400 level. Language courses and regional courses at the 300/400 level are automatically part of the International Studies curriculum and do not require a review by the INTL Advisory Board.
International Studies Program Process for Course Approval: Topics Courses
- Faculty proposes a course appropriate to the International Studies curriculum in one or multiple thematic concentrations
- Faculty fills out the INTL Thematic Course Review Application and sends it to International Studies, WH 300
- Faculty sends a syllabus to intl@indiana.edu
- Course content is reviewed by two members of the INTL Advisory Board

- If approved, the course is listed as an "approved thematic elective"
