Ambassador Feisal Istrabadi will give a lecture on "Diplomacy and Its Discontents" on Wednesday, April 22nd at 4 pm in the Georgian Room in the Indiana Memorial Union. The lecture is part of the International Studies Undergraduate Capstone Symposium.
On April 23rd, Professor Morten Oxenboell will present "The Art of Dying Well — Aesthetics of Violence in pre-modern Japan". His talk will take place from 4:00 -6:30 p.m. in the University Club's Faculty Room, Indiana Memorial Union.
1-300 students of professor Stepanka Korytova were involved in actively recruiting local businesses for a service-learning project with the Bloomington Human Rights Commission to launch a Fair Labor Initiative.
Professor Alfredo Minetti and the creative tango group, This is Tango Now, are traveling to China to perform 30 shows all together. As an anthropologist, Minetti combines tangos with powerful narratives with which he coins "tango theater".
Congratulations to our very own Professors Nick Cullather and Hillary Kahn! Cullather was appointed the first associate dean for academic affairs, and Kahn was appointed assistant dean for strategic collaborations in the School of Global and International Studies.
