The InULA Program and Social Committee planned for the annual holiday luncheon at the Tudor Room. The meeting was scheduled in the alcove in the Tudor Room in the Indiana Memorial Union (IMU) on the Bloomington Campus for December 15th from Noon to 2 PM. 45 members were attended. For the program we invited Moira Smith, the librarian for Anthropology, Folklore, Sociology & Social Work on the Bloomington campus. Her talk entitled as The Fern and the Banana Peel was a report based on her sabbatical experiences as a resident scholar at the Stout Research Centre at the Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Door prizes were given out.

The Committee also co-sponsored a brown bag presentation arranged by the Bloomington Library Faculty Continuing Education Committee on Wednesday, May 9, 12:00-1:30 in Wells Library, E174. Spring InULA Program:
We applied the InULA Professional Development Grant to be used in hosting a Spring Program and the grant was awarded. The Spring program entitled What Hoosier Librarians Can Learn from Katrina: Preparing for Disasters at IU was held in the IUPUI, University Library, Auditorium on May 11, 2007. Two speakers were invited for a half-day program: Andy Corrigan, Associate Dean for Library Collections at the Howard-Tilton Memorial Library at Tulane University shared his experience dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Jim Cooridan, Director and State Archivist of the Indiana Commission on Public Record shared information about disaster planning and preparedness in Indiana. The program was announced via InULA-L, IU-SLIS listserv, I-ASIS&T listserv, the listserv for Indiana Public Libraries, and IUL's newsletter. 35 were registered but the attendance was lower.
