Vol. 17, No. 1 Announcing the 2002 InULA Scholarship WinnerGreetings, I am pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2002 InULA Scholarship is Jennifer Conn Segner. Jennifer is close to finishing both the MLS/MIS degrees with an outstanding academic record. She has also completed the requirements of the Indiana State Teaching License in Library/School Media. Her conception of the role of the librarian is broad and comprehensive. Her reference notes that Jennifer "will bring to the public schools energy and creativity to promote information skills." Furthermore, "she is aware of the current educational standards, methods to effectively teach information selection and use, and has shown that she can collaborate with other teachers to provide instruction in support of literacy programming." Congratulations to Jennifer! I do want to observe that all of applications we received this year were outstanding. The InULA Executive Board deliberated at great length to determine the awardee. All of the applicants demonstrated excellent academic records. We are confident that all of them will become outstanding librarians and we thank them for applying to the InULA scholarship. Ralph Papakhian, InULA President
