The International Outreach Council (IOC) of Indiana University Bloomington is a joint effort by area studies centers and others to reach out to various publics in the community in a collective effort to educate.  Through this collaboration, the centers combine resources and support for all activities and events.  Throughout the Fall and Spring semesters, the council meets monthly to discuss ongoing and new projects.  The IOC partners with a variety of local and nation-wide organizations, schools, and community groups to conduct these programs.  All programs have an international theme and seek to share knowledge about global issues, peoples, and cultures.   The IOC’s meetings and programs are coordinated by a graduate student at Indiana University.
