ACTION RESEARCH
PROJECT
For an
overview of the Action Research Project, please
see the
Action Research Project Home Page (click
here).
Action Research Project Grade
Your
instructor will support you through the process of
inquiry, a process that you can continue to use for your own
professional development long after you have finished the
course. Your instructor will not be evaluating the extent to
which each of the products you submit is "right" or "wrong."
You should feel free to explore new areas and take some
risks with your project without the fear that you will be
"graded down" for your efforts. Therefore, your grade on the
action research project will be based on the following
criteria:
1. Fully completing all
assignments.
2. Attending the mandatory
instructor meetings.
The action
research project includes seven assignments. For each day
that an assignment is late (see due dates on the
calendar (click here)), 1/2 point will be
deducted from the 40 points, not to exceed 5 points. If you
know that you will be submitting an assignment late, please
contact your instructor. Depending on the reason for the
late submission, your instructor may choose to waive the
penalty.
Working on the Inquiry
Project in a Group
You may work on the action
research project in a school-based group, or you
may work independently. Groups should develop
the same product for each
assignment, with the exception of the personal
reflection and action plan in Implementation
Phase 2. Each participant should submit an
individual reflection and action plan.
The following chart provides a
list of key course components for the year three
