Jeff was born, raised and educated in New Zealand. His international interests were prompted by a youth development project called Operation Raleigh (now Raleigh International), where he lived outdoors for three months with 120 other adventurers from around the world. Jeff worked as a financial manager in Europe for three years and travelled extensively in Asia before coming to the US in 1991. He gained his MBA at the University of Maryland, and undertook doctoral studies there in the area of cross-cultural behavior and team-based management. Jeff has worked in developing executive education for the business schools at Indiana University and the University of Maryland, and facilitates team-building experiences for corporate clients of Outward Bound. He was a consultant in cross-sector management initiatives at the World Bank, working with many regional, sector and country teams in 2002-04. Jeff resides in Bloomington, where he raises three young children with his wife, Connie. He is a keen hiker, an occasional climber, and an active soccer coach licensed by US Soccer. |
