For international clients CIEDA designs and conducts training programs ranging in length from two weeks to 18 months.  While the content and objectives of these programs vary according to the sponsor's needs and may be offered either in the US or abroad, CIEDA's training efforts have the following things in common.  They:

  • Are designed in close consultation with the sponsor.
  • Establish clear goals and objectives for learning.
  • Make appropriate use of educational technologies to enhance learning.
  • Are conducted by experienced university professionals using current best practices and pedagogies.
  • Are cost-effective.
  • Include mid-term and final evaluations of the programs' effectiveness.

In designing and conducting training programs, CIEDA is able to draw upon an impressive array of capabilities and international resources at Indiana University.

The two major targets for IU's non-degree training programs are (a) mid-career professionals seeking to sharpen skills or develop new competencies and (b) prospective international students whose sponsors seek assistance with pre-academic training and placement as well as monitoring of their academic progress.
