Undergraduate Certificate
Requirements:
24 credit hours, including the core course for India Studies, and two courses from each of the three disciplinary groups (that is, literary and performance studies, philosophical and religious studies, and social and historical studies). The remaining units may come from interdisciplinary electives in the areas of specialization.
At least 15 credits must be from 300-level courses or above. Under certain circumstances, other courses that include some aspect of the study of India may, by special arrangement and with the permission of the director of India Studies, be counted towards the certificate. The first two years of language instruction, however, will not count towards completion of the certificate. Finally, only four courses from a student’s major may be counted towards the India Studies certificate.
