Entering at Midstream: A "PREP PAGE" for S150, S200 and S250 Students

This page provides links to presentations and practice for students who are either entering our sequence of courses somewhere beyond the beginning course (S100). Many such students are resuming Spanish study after a long time away from the subject.

The focus here is on grammar, of which the important topic is verbs. Therefore, the review that I am suggesting you do consists of practicing the verb forms and functions.

There are, of course grammar topics other than verbs in the courses (object pronouns, comparisons, others), but for the most part I think that you'll find these adequately covered in the course itself. However, you can always practice any of these online if you wish. The home page for my Spanish grammar web site is here.

THE VERB REVIEW PAGE
At my Spanish grammar web site, I've prepared a comprehensive set of verb review quizzes. I'll have you go there in a minute.

First, please find below the course that you are now enrolled in (S150, S200 or S250) and look over the list of verb tenses that I'm suggesting that you review. Then click on the VERB REVIEW PAGE link (this page will stay open), and do as follows:

  • If necessary, read the presentation for each verb tense; the first quiz you will see has a link to the presentation.
  • Do the quizzes for that verb tense; repeat any quiz in which you are making errors. Do all of the quiz types for each tense (form practice, scramble, paragraph fill-in).
  • Go to the next verb tense.
