Call For Papers—Guidelines for Submission
Proposals are Invited for the 9th International Symposium
on Society and Resource Management

Presentation Format:

  • Paper Presentation: 20 minute presentation, 10 minute discussion period. Send a summary/abstract, not to exceed 300 words, describing the objectives and theme of the presentation.

  • Poster Presentation: Describe in 300 words, or less, the purpose and strategy of the presentation. Poster sessions are on Monday, June 2. Two poster boards will be provided.

  • Dialogue Session: Organizers of dialogue sessions will send a 300-word summary describing the topic, how it will be introduced, its relation ship to Symposium themes, and how the audience will be involved. Each session will consist of 30 minutes formal presentation, and 30 minutes public discourse and/or participation, via debates and "cross-fire" exchanges.

  • Panel Session: Panels will be comprised of 3 or 4 persons and a session Chair. Each panelist will make a 10 minute opening statement on a topic related to Symposium themes, after which the Chair will facilitate interaction among the panelists for the remaining 20-30 minutes. Each Chair will submit a 300-word, or less, overview of the panel session.

  • Chair a Session: Please indicate, on your summary page, if you are willing to chair a panel, paper or dialogue session.


Guidelines for Proposal Submissions:

  • All submissions MUST include at the TOP of the Summary page: Name(s); Affiliation; Title of Session; Telephone; E-mail, Presentation Format, & Equipment needed. (Note: Each room will be equipped with an overhead and slide projector. For Power-point presentations, attendees must bring their own laptop computer).

    (For multiple author presentations: Please indicate who will be the main correspondent)

  • There are THREE ways of submitting your proposal for participation:
  1. E-mail your proposal as an attachment—text-only, Microsoft or WordPerfect, PC or MAC. Please use Times New Roman, 12-point font. Do not write the proposal within the body of your email message. Include all relevant information requested (i.e., names, affiliation, title, format, etc.) and send to issrm@indiana.edu Or,

  2. On-Line: Submit your proposal via the on-line form. Or,

  3. Mail: Send three, single-spaced hard copies of your summary, along with the information requested (i.e., name, affiliation, title, format, etc.), and an electronic version on a 3.5" disk, carefully labeled with your name and title of your presentation. Save as a text file only (Word or WordPerfect—PC or MAC). Use 12-point, Times New Roman.

All Summaries will be included in the Proceedings Publication of the 9th ISSRM


Deadline: January 31, 2002. All proposals will be reviewed by the Program Committee prior to acceptance. Participants will be notified no later than Feb. 28, 2002 regarding the status of their proposal. Submit early!
