Presentation Formats

Paper Presentations - This is the traditional format, and sessions will be organized around submitted papers.  Each paper will be limited to 20 minutes, with 10 minutes at the end for questions and comments.

Plenary Sessions - Invited speakers will keynote the plenary sessions and speak on selected issues topical to the various themes of the conference.

Panels - Panels should be comprised of three or four persons and a session chair.  Each panelist will make a ten minute opening statement on the session topic, after which the session chair will facilitate interaction among the panelists.  Each Chair will submit a summary of the main points for the panel session.

Poster Sessions - Authors will be available to discuss the materials in their posters and no concurrent sessions will be scheduled during these times.

Dialogue Sessions - Should be designed to stimulate discussion on a topic of mutual interest to managers, private resource owners, researchers, and policy makers.  These sessions may include debates, short presentations as a stimulus for wider discussion, and "cross-fire" exchanges.  Organizers of dialogue sessions must submit that describes the thematic topic, general format and key participants.

Training Sessions - Training sessions on specific topics will be presented on Tuesday evening.  Topics have yet to be determined, but will have direct relevance to research in the social sciences.
