How To Apply to IST Distance Programs

Application Procedures

For both the master's and the Certificate program you must use IU's online "ApplyYourself" program. All application materials will be submitted to IST through this online service, including personal goal statement, transcripts, and letters of reference. You do not have to complete the online application in one setting or from one computer.  You may access the application as many times as you like with your PIN and password from any computer with Internet access.

Special instructions:

If you are applying to the master's program, in the "Educational Objectives" section of the application do the following:

  1. In the "Academic Program" row, choose "Education All Other Areas"
  2. In the "Major" row, choose "Instructional Systems Technology MSED"
  3. In the "Academic Interest" row, choose "Education"

If you are applying to the Certificate program, in the "Educational Objectives" section of the application do the following:

  1. In the "Academic Program" row, choose "Education Grad Nondegree"
  2. In the "Major" row, choose "IST Certification"
  3. In the "Academic Interest" row, choose "Education"

Application Deadlines

Applicants for both programs must complete the online application by the following dates:

    For Fall Semester:

Non U.S.A. Citizens:  May 1
U.S.A. Citizens:   June 1

    For Spring Semester:

Non U.S.A. Citizens:  September 1
U.S.A. Citizens:   November 1

    For Summer Semester:

Non U.S.A. Citizens:  March 1
U.S.A. Citizens:   March 1
