Before you can live on our beautiful campus, study in one (or more) of our hundreds of degree programs, and experience our exciting campus culture—from Big Ten sports to world-class arts—you need to apply to IU.

Admission to IU is selective, but there are several upsides to IU’s admission process:

• We review each application for its individual merits and qualities. We look at everything from your high school curriculum to your grades and SAT/ACT test scores.
• Our application is easy to fill out. We don’t require letters of recommendation or essays from undergraduate applicants, and our application is relatively short.
• We practice rolling admission. So if you miss our priority date, we’ll still review your application, although you may not receive full consideration for financial aid and scholarships.

Music Students

Please note that the deadline for completing the application for the Jacobs School of Music is November 1, 2012 for fall 2013 admission. Please contact the Jacobs School of Music Admissions Office at (812) 855-7998 for more information. Also beginning this year, Jacobs School of Music freshman applicants will not be considered for the IU Automatic Scholarships administered by the IU Office of Scholarships. The Jacobs School of Music will administer these scholarships, taking into consideration the combination of academic achievement and talent as it is demonstrated in the audition.
