Dean's Scholarship

Dean's Scholarships are automatically awarded to Indiana residents with exceptional grade point averages, class ranks, and SAT or ACT scores. These awards are renewable for a maximum of four years and can be valued up to $20,000 ($5,000 per year). No separate application is necessary for consideration.

Faculty Awards

Faculty Awards are automatically awarded to non-residents who have exceptional SAT or ACT scores, class ranks, and GPAs. These awards are renewable for a maximum of four years and can be valued up to $28,000 ($7,000 per year). No separate application is necessary for consideration.

Indiana Advantage Awards

Indiana residents who are offered direct admission to the Kelley School of Business are automatically considered for this $12,000 scholarship ($3,000 per year). These awards are renewable for a maximum of four years. No separate application is necessary for consideration, and recipients will receive notification from the Kelley School following their direct admission offer.

Indiana Scholars Awards

Indiana residents who are offered direct admission to the College of Arts and Sciences are automatically considered for this $4,000 scholarship ($1,000 per year). These awards are renewable for a maximum of four years. Recipients will receive notification from the College of Arts and Sciences following their direct admission offer.

National Merit Scholarships

IU awards this $4,000 ($1,000 per year) scholarship to all National Merit Finalists who indicate IU as their first choice through the National Merit Scholar Program. No application is necessary and the scholarship is renewable for a maximum of four years.

Valedictorian Award

Indiana residents who are ranked number one in their graduating class at the time of admission will automatically receive this $4,000 scholarship ($1,000 per year). The Valedictorian Award is renewable for a maximum of four years.

Need and Merit Awards

The following awards consider both financial need and academic merit.

Advancement Grant

Advancement Grants are offered to Indiana residents who demonstrate top academic performance and have financial need. Competitive students should have outstanding grades, class rank and SAT or ACT scores. No scholarship application is necessary, but a FAFSA must be filed by March 1 st to be considered. Grants can be as much as $12,000 total ($3,000 per year) and are renewable for a maximum of four years.

21st Century Scholars

The 21st Century Scholars program offers tuition assistance to Indiana residents who meet academic and need requirements. Students apply for the 21st Century Scholar program in the 7th or 8th grade.

Hudson and Holland Scholars Programs

The Hudson and Holland Scholars Programs recognize academically outstanding resident and non-resident students. Primary consideration is given to underrepresented populations, but other applicants are considered. Competitive students should have strong grades, SAT or ACT scores and a demonstrated commitment to serving their community. Scholarship award amounts vary and are renewable for up to four years. Students who meet criteria for consideration will need to complete and return the Selective Scholarship Application included with their offer of admission to IU.

Hutton Honors College Scholarships

The exceptional and highly motivated freshmen who are invited to the Hutton Honors College and have outstanding records and SAT/ACT scores may also apply for and be considered for a Hutton Honors College Scholarship. Award amounts vary and are renewable for up to four years. Priority is given to students who apply by November 1. However, competitive applicants applying for admission by February 1 will also be considered. Students who meet criteria for consideration will need to complete and return the Selective Scholarship Application included with their offer of admission to IU.

Kelley Scholars Program

The Kelley Scholars program offers a full-ride scholarship that includes tuition and fees, room and board, a stipend, books and supplies and an overseas study opportunity to 10-12 freshmen. Students must be offered direct admission to the Kelley School of Business and are eligible to apply based on SAT/ACT scores, GPA and class rank. Recipients must display excellence in academics, leadership, and extracurricular involvement. The Kelley Scholarship is renewable for four years by maintaining a specified GPA. Students who meet criteria for consideration will need to complete and return the Selective Scholarship Application included with their offer of admission to IU. Note: This scholarship cannot be combined with other awards.

Nomination Awards

These awards are based on a nomination process to either receive the award, or to be eligible to apply.

Hoosier Presidential Scholars

The Hoosier Presidential Scholars program recognizes a select number of Indiana resident freshmen who are the top achievers of the incoming freshmen class. The award includes a scholarship which is renewable for four years, a personal computer, and funding for a study-abroad program. Recipients are selected by the Office of the President and must maintain a minimum GPA. No separate application is necessary.

Wells Scholars Program

The Wells Scholars program offers a scholarship that includes tuition and fees, a living stipend for room, board, and books, and an overseas study opportunity for 18-22 freshmen who have records of academic excellence, exceptional qualities of character and leadership, significant involvement in extracurricular activities, and concern for their communities. All Indiana high schools and selected out-of-state high schools may nominate up to two students each year to apply for the scholarship. Students who do not attend high schools eligible to nominate can be considered for nomination by the Office of Admissions. The Wells Scholarship is renewable for a total of four years of support by maintaining a specified GPA and full-time status. Note: This scholarship cannot be combined with other IU awards, except for the IU National Merit Scholarship.
