Priority Dates

We practice rolling admissions, which means we'll review your application as soon as it arrives, beginning in early fall of your senior year. There are five pieces that make up a complete application, and we must receive all five before we can start our review. They are:

  1. Application for admission
  2. $50 nonrefundable application fee ($60 for international students)
  3. Official high school transcript
  4. Official SAT/ACT test scores
  5. Counselor’s signature

Freshman Priority Dates

Here are the important dates to keep in mind as you prepare to apply to IU. These are priority dates, not deadlines. We will review applications received after the priority date; however, we recommend that you submit all application materials by the appropriate priority date in order to guarantee maximum consideration.

November 1 Priority date for freshmen applying for fall admission who wish to receive maximum consideration for many merit-based scholarships.
Priority date for admission consideration for freshmen intending to enter IU in the spring semester.
March 1 File the FAFSA by March 1 for priority consideration for need-based financial aid.
April 1 Applications received after April 1 will be reviewed on a space available, case-by-case basis.
May 1 $100 enrollment deposit must be received by May 1 to reserve your space in the freshman class.
