A place to celebrate new ideas and practice old traditions, a place that connects you to the world and feels like home.

You’ll never have trouble finding ways to get involved at IU, but you may have trouble narrowing down your list. You’ll have so many options, from interesting electives to student organizations to philanthropic activities like IU Dance Marathon (above), in which students dance for 36 hours to raise money for Riley Hospital for Children.
Best of all are the surprises—the activities you never knew existed till you came to IU, the interests you wouldn’t have developed anywhere else. Never tried geocaching? At IU, you might learn you love it.
Student government. Dozens of greek organizations. The award-winning Indiana Daily Student. Clubs for everything from accounting to waterskiing. IU has so many student organizations, it’s hard to imagine you would ever need to create your own. But you can do that too.
Want to improve the world? So do IU students, who volunteer their time and talents to staff local nonprofits, build homes for needy Bloomingtonians, teach kids about exercising and eating right, send books to schools overseas, donate blood in the IU Blood Donor Challenge, and create organizations like College Mentors for Kids.
Alternative spring break trips—like those offered through the Hutton Honors College and Civic Leadership Development—are a way to serve while seeing places like San Diego, California, and San José, Costa Rica.
Start by visiting IU. Feel free to ask our students and staff about all the options you have.
