Visit IU

There are some things you just have to see for yourself and IU is one of them. Schedule a campus visit today so you can get to know IU and decide if it's right for you. While you're here, you can:

  • Attend a group information session
  • Take a student-guided walking tour
  • Tour a residence hall and room
  • Talk with a representative from your academic area of interest
  • Future freshmen may take advantage of other special visit options
  • Meet with one of our admissions staff

Plus, you'll discover why IU is considered one of the most beautiful college campuses in the country and why USA Today named Bloomington one of the top 10 college towns, "Hottest Big State School."

If you will be visiting the IU campus on a Sunday, the IU Visitor Information Center offers campus tours on Sunday afternoons at 1 pm. If you are interested in scheduling a tour with the IU Visitor Information Center, please call (812) 856-GOIU (4648) ) or e-mail iuvis@indiana.edu. Please contact their office at least two weeks before you plan to visit campus, to ensure space availability.

Scheduling Your Visit

Whichever option you choose, it's easy to schedule a visit to IU. Here's how:

  1. Review our campus calendar, since it's best to visit campus when classes are in session. If your schedule prevents you from coming to campus during a regular semester, our admissions office is open during most breaks and on some Saturdays.

  2. High school students and future freshmen should review our visit options to find out about special events such as our Indiana Overviews, Red Carpet Days, Multicultural Programs, and Overnight Visits.

  3. If you are a high school, community organizer, church group, or other organization hoping to schedule a visit for a group of seven or more students, please make arrangements through our Special Group Visit program.  Schedule your group here.

  4. Decide when you would like to visit IU. It's best if you can give us two weeks notice so we can tailor your visit to your specific interests. If you wish to visit sooner than two weeks from now, please phone our scheduling department at (812) 855-0661 to arrange your visit.

  5. Schedule your visit. To arrange your campus visit, please call (812) 855-0661 or use our online scheduling system.
    Note: IU's online scheduling system will be down for regular maintenance every Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Bloomington is in the Eastern Time Zone and observes Daylight Saving Time.
