Visit Options

High school students and future freshmen have a variety of options available for their visit to the IU Bloomington campus.

To schedule a campus visit, please call our scheduling office at 812-855-3512 or use our online scheduling system.

Year-Round Visits

Our basic campus visit program typically includes a group information session, walking tour of campus, and tour of a residence hall.

Group information sessions provide a comprehensive overview of the academic, cultural, and social opportunities IU offers. They allow students and families to learn about our admissions requirements and have their questions answered.

A campus tour is your chance to see IU's academic buildings and campus landmarks. Tours are led by current students who are happy to answer your questions about life at IU.

The option to tour a residence hall is also available most days during the school year.

Weekday visits may include an appointment for you to meet with a representative from your academic area(s) of interest. To schedule an individual appointment, you must phone our scheduling department at (812) 855-3512. A scheduling director will arrange all of your visit options at that time.

Freshman Forums

Admitted students gain the most from attending one of our daylong Freshman Forums, which take place in the spring. Freshman Forums provide students and their families with specific information pertinent to admitted students as they make final decisions about college and IU. In 2008, Freshman Forums will take place Monday through Friday from March 3-April 30 (with the exception of our Spring Break, March 10-March 14).

Indiana Overviews

These comprehensive visit days, offered in the fall, give students and their families a chance to learn about IU's academic standards and programs, financial aid opportunities, residence halls, classroom and recreational facilities, and student life. You'll spend the day on campus talking with our faculty, students, and staff, and touring campus and a residence hall.

Multicultural Visit Options

If you're African American, Latino, Asian American, or Native American, you'll want to attend one of our Multicultural Visit Options. Consider our Multicultural Open Houses for juniors and seniors; IU Reach, a three-day visit program for high school sophomores; or the Overnight Experience for admitted students.

Overnight Visits

See what it's like to be an IU student for a day through our Hoosier Overnight Student Team (HOST) Program. You will be paired with a current student, spending one night in a residence hall, attending classes, and participating in campus activities. The HOST program is available from October until mid-April.
