ALUMNI NEWSLETTER DECEMBER 2012

Greetings from the Dean

Recently compiled data reveal that in 2011-12, around 38 percent of Hutton Honors College (HHC) students participated in study abroad, internships, and volunteer experiences overseas. More than 50 percent of HHC students are likely to have at least one international experience before they graduate. The late Edward L. Hutton, founder of the Hutton International Experiences Program, would have welcomed this news, and we expect he would have cheered on the Hutton Family Foundation's recent $500,000 gift to the HHC for study abroad. This is the largest gift to date under a university matching program for overseas study. The first round of grants to students under the new Hutton Family Foundation Scholarship were made late in the fall of 2012.

News about this gift and much more are found in the December 2012 Hutton Honors College Alumni Newsletter. Inspect the impressive qualifications of the Class of 2016, peruse alumni Class Notes, and marvel at distinctions garnered by fellow HHC alumni.

To all Hutton Honors College family and friends: Happy Holidays from the Hutton Honors College and Best Wishes for the New Year!

Matt Auer
Dean, Hutton Honors College
