Hutton Honors College
— Discuss IUB Requirements with HHC Dean Karen Hanson
|
An Invitation from HHC Dean Karen HansonWhat would you like to learn at IU? What would you like to be required to learn? The Bloomington campus is moving to adopt general education requirements, requirements that would apply to all undergraduates in all schools and degree programs. I'd like to learn your views on what, if anything, all educated people should know. Please join me and your fellow Hutton Honors College students for an informal discussion of general education at IUB on THURSDAY, Oct. 12, 2006, 3:30-5 p.m. I'd value your reactions to the proposal recently adopted by the Bloomington Faculty Council, and I'd welcome your views about curricular possibilities in the Hutton Honors College. What works and what doesn't? What should be required and what should be optional? You need not sign up to attend and you are welcome to come for as much or as little of the time as you can spare. The discussion will be at the Honors House, 324 N. Jordan (the red-brick building at the northeast corner of Seventh and Jordan), and we will have cider and donuts to reflect the fall season. Your views matter; please help us shape the curriculum of the HHC. (The discussion will be informal, and you need not do anything special to prepare for it. If you would like some background about the current general education proposal, however, you might review this short report.) Hope to see you, Hutton Honors College | Fall 2006 Programs | Extracurricular Home |
