A205 is the introductory financial accounting course for students undertaking the Honors Program in the Kelley School of Business. The primary objective of A205 is to help you gain a basic understanding of accounting, its role in society, and how financial accounting information can be used to make informed decisions. Financial accounting focuses on the process by which companies publicly report economic information to various stakeholders (e.g., investors, lenders, suppliers, employees, regulators, etc.). This course seeks to provide you with a thorough understanding of the preparation and analysis of financial accounting reports. In particular, A205 highlights how general financial accounting concepts are applied in real-world business settings. After completing this course, you should be able to read, interpret, and analyze financial statements.
