SPEA-S 332: Honors - Intro to Applied Ecology
Professor Stephen Glaholt*
Section 6944 MW 9:30-10:45am PV 163

Overview:

Applied Ecology is the utilization of ecological principles, related to the relationship between biotic (living things) and abiotic (environmental) factors, to address environmental issues. The goal of this course is for each student to build an understanding of ecological principals and theories, then apply this knowledge base to address enduring and current environmental problems. To achieve this goal you will be required to participate in class discussions and keep up with pre-class readings, presentation, and graded assignments. In order to be ambitious about breadth of coverage, we will have to make sacrifices in depth, which is usually the case in introductory courses.

*No background in ecology and relatively little background in the general sciences is required.
