FORD SCHOLARSHIP FOR PROSPECTIVE AND CURRENTLY ENROLLED HHC STUDENTS
The Ford Endowed Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis by the Indiana University, Bloomington Hutton Honors College, and are renewable. These scholarships are designated for minorities and women with special consideration given to Ford employees, their spouses and children. The Honors College Scholarship Review Committee selects recipients on the basis of academic performance; the quality of thinking demonstrated in the personal statement and scholarship essay; unusual circumstances, challenges, or hardships as described in the essays; content of the letter of recommendation; and financial need as reflected in their IU financial aid package.
Prospective students who have been invited to become members of the HHC will automatically be considered for this merit award as part of the IU admission and selective scholarship application process.
Current IU students who wish to apply must be members of the HHC; enrolled full-time on the Bloomington campus; entering their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of undergraduate study; maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.4 or above; must not have received an HHC renewable merit scholarship as incoming freshmen; and must demonstrate financial need.
Spouses and children of Ford employees who are prospective or current IU students, do not need to be eligible for HHC membership or members of the HHC in order to apply, but must fit the criteria for membership in the HHC (high school students must have at least a 3.85 CGPA, and IU enrolled students must have at least a 3.4 CGPA).
To apply for an HHC Ford Scholarship, you may obtain an application here.
If you are claiming a Ford Motor Company affiliation (e.g., one or both of your parents is/are currently employed by FMC), you will be required to provide written verification of this affiliation. You may obtain the Ford Employment Verification Letter template here to be submitted with your application.
Applications are accepted year round. The average award amount is $1,000.
