Making
Change Happen:
"Strategy" Lunch with Community Activist Ava Hernandez
September 29, 2008
Ava Hernandez was on campus as
the guest of La Casa in
recognition of National Hispanic Heritage Month.
In light of her own success facilitating change, her visit seemed
an ideal opportunity to foster discussion about the ways to
create the change you want to see in the world. The HHC invited
students from STAND (Students Taking Action Now: Darfur), Y'ALL (Youth
Advocating Leadership and Learning), the Kelley Microfinance Initiative,
and Latinos Unidos to talk about the goals and successes of their organizations.
