Undergraduate Breakfast with Pulitzer-Prize Winning Journalist, Filmmaker, and Immigrant Activist

Jose Antonio Vargas was part of the Washington Post team that won a Pulitzer Prize for Breaking News Reporting for its coverage of the 2007 shootings at Virginia Tech that resulted in the deaths of more than 30 people. He has also won prominence for his coverage of immigration, including his own personal story as an undocumented immigrant and advocate.

Jose Antonio Vargas's film Documented, which he wrote and directed, chronicles his life as a child brought to the United States from the Philippines to his discovery of his undocumented status to his decision to come out publicly in a piece in the New York Times.

Hutton Honors College student Christine White introduced Vargas to the group.

Students asked questions about his journalism, activism, and the issues facing undocumented immigrants in this country.
