 —  Behind-the-scenes Tour

Behind-the-scenes, Onstage, and Backstage Tour of
the Musical Arts Center: Massenet's Cendrillon

February 4, 2009

On this tour students saw the inner workings of the Musical Arts Center, home of IU's famous Opera and Ballet Theater! House Manager Tridib Pal led students through not only the spaces the public generally sees, but also on- and backstage and through the workshops used to create the sets and costumes.

MAC house manager Tridib Pal begins the tour by talking about the history of the Musical Arts Center and its unique architectural design.

Backstage, students look up into the rafters, which are about eleven stories high!

In the woodshop, students get to see the sets for The Most Happy Fella as they are being built.

Tridib Pal shows the students the design book for the costumes worn in Cendrillon.
