February 10, 2009
Following a discussion panel on the topic of the expansion of
executive power from Lincoln to Obama, students had the opportunity
to enjoy a discussion supper with panel member Charlie
Savage, a journalist for The New York Times who won the 2007
Pulitzer Prize for his
reporting on presidential signing
statements while working for The Boston Globe. Panelist
Michael
Grossberg, the Sally M. Reahard Professor of History and an adjunct
professor of law at IU as well as the co-director of the IU
Center for
Law, Society, and Culture, also joined
