"Financing Your Future":
An Undergraduate Discussion Supper

April 7, 2011

IU Treasurer MaryFrances McCourt and Senior Associate Director of the Office of Student Financial Assistance Roy Durnal spoke about why education costs what it does, why these costs continue to rise, and how to finance your education. The talks were followed by an open Q & A session. This discussion supper was organized by Elizabeth Bercovitz, a Virtu Project partner, and sponsored by the Virtu Project. The Virtu Project is a student-run non-profit organization which raises money through a mock investment portfolio for the Timmy Foundation, an Indianapolis-based non-profit organization which provides medical care to underprivileged countries, including Ecuador and Guatemala. In addition to goals of raising funds and furthering student knowledge about investment, the program is expanding its endeavors to include educational seminars.
