HHart: A Celebration of the Arts,
February 17, 2011
The HHC and the Hudson and Holland Scholars Program sponsored the first annual Arts Showcase and Gala. The program was headed by Gizele Rubiez, an Extracurricular Programs Committee member. As a new addition to IU Arts Week, on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, 8-10 p.m., at the Hutton Honors College, the Showcase/Gala featured undergraduate student artwork, regardless of major or medium, in a fabulous evening filled with panache and style. Students shared visual, performing, or spoken art, and/or volunteered to serve on planning committees for the event. Interested parties (including biology majors who love to paint, history majors who write poetry, business majors who compose music, arts and music majors, and . . .) were invited to participate. Those who submitted 2D visual art had the additional, exciting opportunity to have their work considered for display in IMUG, the Indiana Memorial Union Gallery, in the days that followed the Gala.
