Civilians around the globe have to face the fear of landmines throughout their daily lives, and Afghanistan provides a significant example. Professor Nazif Shahrani, from the Departments of Anthropology, Central Eurasian Studies, and Near Eastern Languages and Cultures and an expert on Afghanistan's history and political struggles, discussed the threat landmines pose in Afghanistan and elsewhere.
