Based on Greek mythology and Ovid's epic poem, Metamorphoses brings the familiar Greek characters to life in an acclaimed modern adaptation that explores the theme of remarkable change and transformations. The Broadway production received three Tony nominations, including "Best Play," and won the Tony for Best Direction, as well as the 2002 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play. Join Hutton Honors College faculty member Edward Gubar for a preview talk and dessert at Honors House and then head over to the Wells-Metz Theatre for the performance.

RSVP: To attend this program, you must sign-up IN PERSON by 2 P.M. on TUESDAY, JAN. 29, and pay for your ticket at the time you sign up. Space is limited so we encourage you to respond as soon as possible. Please come to Honors House, 324 N. Jordan Ave., Rm. 202, during normal business hours WITH YOUR TICKET PAYMENT (cash or check only). Honors House is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-noon and 1-5 p.m. The program is open to IU undergrads, whether or not they are members of the HHC. You may sign up friends as well; however, please be sure to have available the following information for each person you sign up: first and last names, e-mail address, phone number, year in school, and major(s). Professor Gubar has taught courses in literature and journalism, including an HHC seminar on Transformation and Metamorphoses. He also advises Labyrinth, the HHC literary magazine, and administers the Honors College Undergraduate Grant Program. His fiction, nonfiction, and journalism have appeared in a variety of magazines and more than 25 newspapers. He has received an NEH National College Teaching Fellowship, as well as numerous grants from the Indiana Committee for the Humanities.
