Join us for an evening
featuring a new
staging of Tchaikovsky's
much-loved Swan Lake (1876), with the choreography of
Cynthia
Gregory
and IU's own Michael Vernon, and a world premiere of a new ballet
choreographed by Matthew Neenan, currently choreographer in
residence
with the Pennsylvania Ballet. Gregory, a former principal dancer
in the
American Ballet Theatre, choreographs and coaches ballet around the
world; Vernon is a renowned choreographer and ballet master as
well as
chair of the IU Department of Ballet; and Neenan has had his
choreography performed by ballet companies throughout the world. The
program will start with To the Pointe, a pre-performance talk by
Michael
Vernon. Refreshments will be provided at the intermission.
