This spring, without leaving Bloomington, you can travel to three very
different settings and timesPersia in 480 BC, Egypt in 14th
century BC,
and England during the reign of Henry IV in the late 14th and early 15th
centuriesand experience three quite different versions of opera
as
composed by a German in the 18th century, an American in the 20th, and
an Italian in the 19th. You can try one or all three. You can also
enjoy the contrasts of the Old and New Worlds at the ballet!
IU
Opera and Ballet Theater is offering HHC students a special ticket
price of $10 to opening-night performances of its spring operas and
ballet. The discount can be
applied to two tickets per person per performance, allowing each HHC
student to bring
one guest (who must be a student but need not be a member of the HHC).
The seating on opening nights at the opera is open, so you will be
able to sit
wherever and
with whomever you wish. Seating for the spring ballet will be reserved
seating on the
main floor. This
is a great opportunity to take
advantage of IU's incredible programs in opera and ballet!
