The Gates Cambridge Scholarship

Deadline for Application: October 15th

The Gates Cambridge Trust, with benefaction from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, established the Gates Cambridge Scholarship in 2001. The Trust seeks students with leadership potential, excellent academic performance, and the potential for addressing global problems relating to learning, technology, health and social equity. Students from around the world (excluding the United Kingdom) are encouraged to apply. Scholarships are awarded for academic continuation in either a second bachelors degree or graduate study at Cambridge University. For further information, please visit http://www.gatesscholar.org/.

Candidates for graduate studies are expected to submit the Graduate Application form to the Cambridge Board of Graduate studies. In addition, the Graduate Supplementary Information form must be submitted to the Board of Graduate Studies. The form consists of two parts; part I consisting of personal application and Part II completed by a personal referee.

A shortlist of American candidates will be asked to attend an interview in Annapolis Maryland in early February. The Trust will reimburse candidates for travel and other costs associated with the interview. Award of The Gates Cambridge Scholarship does not constitute an offer of admission to the University. A condition of the scholarship is an official offer of admission from the Cambridge Board of Graduate Studies.
