Every semester another group of IU's best and brightest set-off for various corners of the world. Their adventures are as diverse as biking across Ireland, to studying and working with non-profits in developing countries. But they all share a desire to know more and they all become stronger and better people having pushed their boundaries beyond home. Many of these students are aided by grants through HHC's International Experiences Program (IEP). This summer and fall over 250 IU-Bloomington undergraduate students were awarded IEP grants for study in nearly 50 different countries. When these students return, they are asked to contribute essays and photos about their experiences to inspire others to seek adventures of their own. This past spring, IU's Office of Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculties asked to feature some of these stories in Teaching and Learning Magazine. The result is an article about 7 unique international experiences, and the challenges and rewards of education abroad.
