"My most significant honors college experience consisted of my time spent in the Honors Residential Community in Forest dormitory. There is a common sense of purpose among students who choose to live in this community which only grows stronger as their time at IU progresses. The unity of the HRC encourages personal development in defining who you are and how you should best direct your efforts towards reaching your full potential. HRC members serve to inspire each other to work and to dream. In hallway soccer, characters are defined. With midnight popcorn, humor blossoms. At Mother Bears, compassion develops in donating your last piece of pizza to a former stranger, now a respected friend. Upon graduation, we now spring from a higher level as a consequence of having lived together. This fuel will serve to drive us well into the future in accomplishing the great deal of things which need doing in our world."

"Some of my favorite classes at IU were HHC-created classes.  Since very few classes that the HHC offers counted toward my majors, I used them to branch out into areas in which I was less familiar, like journalism, law, or literature. I also enjoyed the many opportunities I had to get involved around campus, be it through volunteer work, enjoying the fine arts, or social activities."

"The Hutton Honors College allowed me to take some of my mandatory classes in a smaller, more intimate class setting that really enhanced my interest in the material. I was challenged to think deeper, instead of just learning the basics."

"IU was an excellent school and my overall experience was great, especially in relation to the Jacobs School of Music. I did not have too much to do with the Honors College to be honest, for the requirements for coursework in Music Ed. outweighed any chance of taking many honors courses (I took 2-3)."

"I loved all of my honors classes, especially with Julia Bondanella and Karen Hanson.  IU has given me the opportunity to have the full college experience, which has been absolutely incredible!  I am also grateful for the Hutton International Experiences Program grants."
