Emergency Preparedness

An emergency alert system intended to spread warnings about possible dangers on Indiana University's campuses is up and running, and officials are encouraging students, staff and faculty members to sign up for it as soon as possible. The service is called Connect-ED and allows registered users to receive text messages, e-mails and phone calls in the event of an emergency situation on any or all of IU's eight campuses.

You can submit your contact information from an online self-service form by logging into the IU OneStart portal, choosing the notifications tab and following the provided links. IU students, faculty and staff can update contact information, including office, home and personal cell phone numbers, as well as non-IU e-mail addresses. The information will be added to IU's Student Information System and also to its Human Resources databases, where it can be accessed by Connect-ED.
